According to Article 4.7.1 of the PCB Anti-Corruption Code, the Pakistan Cricket Board on Tuesday temporarily halted bowler Asif Afridi from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with obvious impact.

The left-arm spinner has been suspended from all cricket-related activities, according to the statement, pending the outcome of the inquiry being conducted by the cricket organization's Anti-Corruption Unit.

The PCB stated in its statement that the cricketer has been given fourteen (14) days to reply to the charges after receiving a Notice of Inquiry for two violations of Article 2.4 of the Code.

Since the matter is still being investigated, the PCB has declined to make any other comments.For example, if any relevant police authority has detained and/or charged a Participant with an offense under any relevant criminal law in relation to facts or situations. 
 
It may also constitute an offense under this Anti-Corruption Code, the PCB shall have the discretion to charge a Participant with an offense under this Anti-Corruption Code or to consider other exceptional circumstances relevant to a Participant."

"The Participant will be informed in writing of any decision to temporarily suspend them, together with a copy.
